Foundations: Building Together in Christ - 1 Corinthians 12:12–27

Week 2 – One Body, Many Parts
Text: 1 Corinthians 12:12–27

Main Idea: The Church is a living body in Christ—every part matters and belongs.

Message Outline:

1. One Body, Many Parts

1 Corinthians 12:12–14

·         The Church is not a building or a program—it’s a living body.

·         Unity doesn’t mean uniformity.

·         We all share the same Spirit.

Key Thought: We are different by design, united by the Spirit.

2. Every Part Matters

1 Corinthians 12:15–20

·         Comparison weakens the body.

·         Every person and gift is essential.

·         God placed each part exactly where He wants it.

Key Thought: You are not just saved—you are called and needed.

3. We Suffer and Rejoice Together

1 Corinthians 12:21–27

·         Real community feels together.

·         We carry one another through pain and joy.

·         The Body of Christ is deeply connected and actively caring.

Key Thought: Love means showing up—with presence, not just words.

Reflection Questions:

  • Do I believe I belong in the Body of Christ?

  • Am I using the gifts God gave me—or hiding them?

  • Who am I walking with in joy and in sorrow?

Next Steps:

  • Get involved—your part matters!

  • Reach out to someone who is hurting.

  • Consider joining or helping start a small group this fall.
